Facilities: Large Tilting Flume

VTCHL's largest tilting flume is 161 ft (49.0 m) long, 6 ft (1.83 m) wide, and 4 ft (1.22 m) deep. The drive system is hydraulic, with a maximum velocity of 2 m/s, a maximum acceleration of 6 m/s2, and a period of 1 s - 18 s. This flume can be readily adapted to be used as a wave tank and for sediment transport studies.
